Yannis Charalambidis is a Professor of Digital Governance and Entrepreneurship at the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean, based in Samos.

He is the founder and director of the Digital Government Research Center, which coordinates policy-making, research and implementation projects for governments and businesses around the world.At the same time, he directs the Master's Program in Digital Innovation and Young Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the National Technical University.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the design, implementation and management of complex information systems, 10 of which as general manager at SingularLogic Group, leading the company's expansion in Greece and Europe. He has published more than 10 books and 300 papers in international journals and conferences and actively participates in international scientific and policy-making bodies.

Giannis has taught as visiting professor at UC Berkeley, TU Delft, Stevens Institute NY, State University NY, University of Washington, City University Hong Kong, Swinburne University Melbourne and Wollongong University in Australia.

In 2018, he was included in the "100 Most Influential People in Digital Government" by the Apolitical Group. In 2022, he was ranked as the 6th most prolific author in Digital Government, among 10,000 authors in the field, by research conducted by the University of Washington.
