Partner & GM at Orange Grove

Alexandra Sarma has headed Orange Grove as its General Manager since late 2017. Among multiple innovative projects, Alexandra led the expansion of Orange Grove beyond Athens, in 2017, and its transition to a digital incubator in 2019.

She is chairwoman and co-founder of the non-profit Ithaca, the legal entity of the Orange Grove and SDG House (Greece) initiatives. Prior to Orange Grove, Alexandra held the position of Program Manager at the non-profit “Save a Life”, enriching the database of volunteer bone marrow donors for cancer patients worldwide; worked at Transifex, a content localization scale-up; undertook the role of managing editor at I Kathimerini Special Editions – The Economist (Greek language); while early in her career she run the family business in London, trading sun-dried agricultural products in Asia, Europe and the USA. She has extensive experience in entrepreneurship having co-ordinated or participated in several initiatives aiming to grow the start-up ecosystem in Greece, generate synergies and build entrepreneurial communities.

Alexandra holds a Bachelor’s degree in European & International Studies from Panteion University (Athens, Greece), a Master’s degree in Management, Economics & International Relations from the University of St Andrews (Scotland, UK) and a second Master’s degree in Central & South-East European Studies from UCL (London, UK).
